Category B: Professional Achievements Award

This category recognizes the professional excellence and contributions of alumni who are employed and working in government, semi-government and private entities in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The award is granted to individuals who have given outstanding service to their work area and made a significant contribution to their teams, employer, or Ras Al Khaimah business community.

Eligibility

All domestic and overseas scholarship alumni employed in Ras Al Khaimah’s government/semi-government sector, private sector, or alumni entrepreneurs of independent businesses in the emirate. Employed alumni must have at least three (3) years of professional experience since graduating with their bachelor degrees, and alumni entrepreneurs’ businesses must have a minimum track record of two (2) years and be in operation at the time of award application/nomination. Alumni should be able to provide evidence of tangible professional achievements, including positive outcomes within the areas of their professional responsibilities. Examples include leadership on key projects or new initiatives, increasing the capacity or effectiveness of their employer’s operations, and mentoring aspiring and junior professionals in their fields. Entrepreneurs should be able to provide evidence of their business’ success and the role it plays in the local community.

Application Process

Open to nominations and direct applications. Complete submissions include: online application form, professional CV, recommendation letter from alum’s supervisor (or another business owner for entrepreneurial applicants), and personal statement outlining professional achievements, service, and philosophy. Entrepreneurs should also submit a copy of their business plan and relevant licenses.

Award Inclusions

Each award includes 15,000 AED honorarium.

Number of Awards

Up to three (3) awards annually, with the goal of awarding one in each sub-category pending strength of submissions received: government/semi-government, private sector, entrepreneur.
