Category A: Excellence in Academic Performance Award

This category recognizes undergraduate and graduate degree alumni who demonstrated academic excellence and graduated with a minimum 3.8 cumulative GPA (or equivalent).

Eligibility

All domestic and overseas scholarship alumni who graduated within the last 12 months with a minimum CPGA of 3.8 or equivalent. Alumni should have remained in good standing with their university and Scholarship Office throughout their study period (e.g. never on academic probation or cited for behavior/misconduct issues) and graduated on-time barring extenuating circumstances that were petitioned and recognized by the Scholarship Office.

Application Process

Complete applications include: online application form and submission of final academic transcript and copy of degree diploma. For graduate alumni, copies of final projects or dissertations are also required. As part of the application materials, the applicant should also write an essay that allows them to showcase their academic merits.

Award Inclusions

Undergraduate alumni receive 3,000 AED and graduate alumni receive 5,000 AED. RAK Government employees receive 3,000 AED regardless of degree type completed.

Varies annually based on the number of alumni who meet the award eligibility criteria.
Criteria
  • Academic performance as measured by achieving minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8 or above at time of graduation
  • Verification applicant never on academic probation or disciplinary/misconduct issues with the university
  • Verification applicant never on scholarship probation or disciplinary/misconduct issues with the Al Qasimi Foundation Scholarship Office
  • Verification applicant graduated on-time (during expected graduation semester) or early with no delays
