Application Review & Scholarship Conditions
Every year, the Scholarship Office receives more applications from well-qualified students than the available scholarship budget can support. The application review process is therefore extremely competitive. Meeting the basic Domestic or Overseas Scholarship eligibility requirements does not guarantee a scholarship award:
UAE Private Universities
- Late and incomplete applications will not be considered, nor will applications that fail to follow instructions or that provide inaccurate information.
- Factors considered during the review process include: academic performance, English language skills, university reputation, relevance of selected degree program, career aspirations, and special circumstances.
- The Statement of Intent is often what sets well-qualified applicants apart during the review process. Applicants are therefore advised to take time on this particular element of their applications and ensure it reflects their best effort.
Successful applicants who receive a scholarship award are required to sign a scholarship agreement and meet the following conditions to remain eligible for scholarship support during the award period:
UAE Private Universities
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress to successfully complete qualifications within the designated scholarship award period
- For academic degree programs, demonstrate strong academic performance and maintain a minimum 3.0 (B) GPA equivalent based on the university’s grading system
- Maintain regular communication with the Scholarship Office throughout the award period and respond to information requests in a timely manner
- Abide by relevant student/professional conduct codes and other academic integrity policies, with particular attention to those that address questions of plagiarism
- Consent to being profiled in Scholarship Office communications to highlight achievements and share personal experiences with prospective applicants and the broader community
