Improve your Behaviour, Build Self-confidence, and Learn New Skills
Hands-on-Learning (HOL) is a program for at-risk secondary school students developed in Australia and adapted for use in the UAE by the Al Qasimi Foundation in 2014 for implementation at schools in Ras Al Khaimah.
Hands-on-Learning (HOL)
This program re-engages students in school by supporting them in improving their behaviour, building self-confidence, learning new skills, completing hands-on projects, and collaborating better with peers and instructors. In each HOL class, students set a behaviour focus plans, complete projects, prepare and eat a meal, and have an English lesson focused on everyday communication. An HOL in a Box toolkit has recently been produced for roll-out in a larger number of schools.
